The Shedding Season by Eva Pasco
Brushing my cat Misty at this time of year with enough yield of fur on her brush to weave yarn on a loom, got me thinking– Spring ’tis “The Shedding Season.” Many of us will contemplate shearing our own hair for ease and simplicity in anticipation of those lazy hazy days of summer. We’ll not only weed our wardrobe in a closet sorting frenzy, but will revel in wearing less and lighter clothing. A more revealing season, it’s time to reactivate our discipline to shed a few pounds so we can squeeze into last year’s swimsuit and take the plunge when the time comes.
We’ll shed formalities in foregoing china and crystal by grilling and dining outdoors, inviting family and friends to join us at the spur of the moment. We’ll gladly let things slide to embrace the outdoors and work the earth for our vegetable and flower gardens to flourish. Spring is a time for renewal and rejuvenation enabled by our readiness to shed encumbrances and monotony.
