Denver Green Festival…YAAAY!

May 3, 2009 | Author: April | Posted in Doing Good

I volunteered for and attended the first ever Green Festival.  I have to say, although the event will probably be a little more exciting next time around (first go is always the hardest), there were truly new and dexciting things I hadn’t seen before!

First, let me say it was trul intrinsically satisfying t be a part of this community and I loved the fact that my photos will be part of this beginning.  It’s a good feeling to be part of something green, but as well, I also volunteered and provided something useful.

Anyway, some of the things i got so see were things Like reusable cloth presant wrappers.  Now you don’t have to keep purchasing wrapper, and it’s ingeniusely designed with lit’s own ribbon to fancifully wrap andd tie it all up!  I loved that.  Then I saw aluminum pop tops used as earrings, recyccled foam for rubber mats, and then flax oil that was flavored and you could use them as a salad dressing or marinade!  There were new kinds of wearable clothing, and hand made hand crafted artisan type clothes.  Eco bags that you can take anywhere with you because they ball up into a 2″x2″ bag.  A greeen directory.  Volunteer vacations across the world.  So many different things.

The green festival has been going across the USA and this was Denver’s breaking in point.  I hope next year will have even more success!
