Quick tips to reduce anxiety
If you are like millions of others who suffer from anxiety (regardless of whether it is constant or irratic), it’s hard to operate and navigate your life with this stress inside of you. Millions of Americans do it, but it ends up being hard both on the mind, body and personal/work life. Here are some easy tips to help reduce anxiety. Best thing is they are free and no prescriptions necessary!
Even better yet, these solutions are drug free, so
there’s no side effect (which can sometimes be worse then the anxiety
itself!)
1. Arrange to spend time with people/family that help make you happy and reduce your stress. This actually helps to reduce anxiety. You aren’t alone and you are able to possibly share your stress with them.
2. Plan some time to do something you really like or enjoy. A hobby helps improve self worth and good internal feeling. Hopefully you can find one that is meditative (distracts the brains focus on your fear). Plus you are learning new things while enjoying it. Creates flexibility in the brain because of the stimulus.
3. Research yourself. Find out what is causing you anxiety. Track it, keep notes on what was going on, or what the focus was. Time of day, what day (Monday,Tuesday, etc). Then it’s good to start to find solutions once you are able to find what triggers it.
4. Learn to count to 10, and breathe deep with every number count. It REALLY does help. Do it again if you need. And again.
5. Write down the thing you are feeling worry or anxiety over and put it on your “worry later” list! That way you don’t have to worry about it, it’s a great way of putting off worry! Kind of like your procrastination list. This helps rewire the brain to not worry so much in the present. I find this invaluable.
