Faster Than McSpeedie’s Pizza
Okay so you aren’t much of a cook these days. You probably have a lot of reasons- maybe you never learned, maybe you’re single and it’s not that much fun to cook for one, maybe you are just too busy. Well, you know it’s important to maintain good health and you know nutrition is a really important aspect of that. That’s why I would like to teach you how to make fast, easy and nutritious meals! Let’s start with something very simple and check back from time to time for more recipes.
Faster Than McSpeedie’s Pizza
Ingredients:
Small Whole wheat or Low Carb Tortillas
1 Can/Jar of readymade pizza or spaghetti sauce (I like Pesto sauce too)
1 package of shredded cheese (I go for the good stuff for this because you don’t use much, but you could use the 2% fat type as well)
Then choose whatever toppings you like, here are my favorites:
Turkey Pepperoni
Black Olives
Broccoli florets
Capers
You could also use:
Onions, Peppers, ham, chicken, mushrooms, etc…
Assembly: Take your cookie sheet and lay your tortilla on it, one tablespoon of sauce usually covers it pretty well-but you may like more or less, sprinkle a thin layer of cheese, then your toppings and lastly another thin layer of cheese. Pop in a 375 degree oven for 6-9 minutes. I like mine extra crispy so I bake it right on the top oven rack without the cookie sheet, and put the cookie sheet on the bottom rack to catch any drips if there are any. When you cook it that way it usually takes a little less time-about 4-7 minutes. Once you pull it out of the oven let it cool a second and then cut into tiny pizza slices. Then crack open your favorite low-cal beer and pop in a movie and you are READY to go. I have been known to eat two of these before—but was really overly full, I’d recommend loading up on toppings and just eating one. Depending on how much you put on top for toppings you could have a low calorie meal or higher—but most likely still less calories and time then ordering pizza. I usually use about 3 oz of pepperoni or chicken and couple handfuls of veggies- so my pizza’s typically come out to be around 300 calories—which is less then just one slice of most order in pizzas. Please enjoy- and let me know what kind of toppings you like on yours!
